George III (my Father) In the sitting room of the Manse in Gargrave Road. He was Methodist Minister of Water Street Church. Not now a church but municipal offices. Registrar etc. He must have been in his early 40s at the time as he moved to Harrogate in the summer of 1945. The piano is now in Anne’s house St Erth Cornwall. It is played every day by Ray, George’s son in law.

The Bookcase.
This was George’s (my Father) 21st birthday present from his parents. and is now in the house of George IV (Peter) in Keighley. All the brothers Syd and Laurie had similar bookcases for 21st birthday presents.

Also, Clara (my Grandmother) in the kitchen of 1A Oakdale Road Leytonstone. Note the letter rack still in existence in George IV house. Did George III make it at school?

and - here's the bookcase in my house in 2007 - George IV
Yes, George III made the letter rack at school, it still has fragments of a label stuck on in the classroom. Here it is nearly 100 years later, in my house - George IV

Picture of my Grandmother and Father on the step of 1A Oakdale Road. The door to their upstairs flat is open. This picture probably taken in the early 1950s as Clara died in 1955.

The flat is actually a maisonette, known as a Warner house (after the builders) Anne's son John lived in a similar one for a while - George IV
