Flagcrackers Weekend
|
|
A sumptuous dinner provided by the Flagcrackers, and an excellent ceilidh from local ceilidh band . . .
with a spun yarn from storyteller Mark Barnes provided early evening entertainment after which Pete White's suitcase circus
. . . sent the tired but very happy Morris people to bed.
Sunday morning dawned sunny and warm, just the sort of weather needed for the traditional Yorkshire Pudding Games, the first time they have been held in Gargrave, and the presentation of the highly prized Yorkshire Pudding Stick to the overall winners, Sergeant Musgraves Morris.

The afternoon saw more dancing at the Old Swan in Gargrave,
including members of the public trying their hand at a Border Morris dance, and very well they did too!
A procession through the streets of Gargrave took everyone to the Summerseat, where an old tradition of Morris dancing at the Summerseat was revived.
